At 4x4 Buyer Store we specialise in offering you a huge range of 4wd, camping and outdoor products at the lowest possible prices.
History
We commenced business in 2004 and have grown our loyal customer base steadily from that time. We first began when we were able to purchase a bulk lot of 'exhaust jacks' from an overseas supplier at such a good price we couldn't say no. We simply let all of our mates know and offered them for a great price, and they all got snapped up. This got us thinking, and before you know it we had (unofficially) started a business. Our original idea was to form a 'buyers club' and mainly sell to members on an 'opt-in' basis. But that never quite worked as planned, so we adopted a strategy of being an exclusively 'on-line' retailer, selling direct from the manufacturer to the customer, thereby being able to save them money.
From those humble beginnings we have gradually grown - through lots of trial and error - to become a well known business in the 4wd retail scene.
Over the years we have done all sorts of things to promote ourselves, from 4wd and camping shows, to magazine and even TV advertising, but all of this was very expensive and didn't seem to produce the results we wanted, so in recent years we have gone back to basics, and simply specialised in keeping in touch with our customers and offering the best prices we can on an ongoing basis. This has meant a slow but steady increase in loyal customers who look to us for great deals on their 4wd, camping and outdoor needs.
How we operate
We try to make it as simple and straight forward as possible to deal with us. Most of our suppliers are happy to ship to you direct, so we are able to save you money by not having to stock the product, and so we can pass on the savings to you.
We do stock some products, and have also imported products ourselves from time to time, but we find that working with local suppliers as we do through our website store has been the most successful strategy for us.
A growing feature of our service to members is our regular specials email that we send to you on a monthly (aproximately) basis. These specials usually feature even better offers than our normal discounts, but may be only available in limited numbers. We also have offers from time to time from our suppliers to purchase in bulk lots at much better prices. We will advise you of these as they become available.
Sometimes we cannot offer a particular brand or item because of the way we operate. Some of our suppliers will not sell to 'internet only' retailers. And others will not ship direct to our customers, so it might be impractical to offer their products (for instance, shipping a bull-bar from the supplier to us, then to you can make the whole excercise very lenghthy and expensive). That's fine, and we are very up-front with our suppliers on that issue. However, we have had some suppliers come back to us after watching us and 'sussing us out' for awhile, and so we do sell some products not normally offered by exclusively on-line retailers. Just because we don't have a 'normal shop' doesn't mean we don't run a bona fide business, and the longer we are in business, the easier it is getting to deal with new suppliers.
Real service from real people
Like us, you are probably wary of buying on the internet. Stories of unethical practices, poor service and downright fraud are all to common when it comes to buying on the 'web'. So, one thing we try to focus on is to make sure that you can talk to us if you are having any problems either before, during or after your purchase with us. We may not always be available immediately by phone, but will normally return a phone call the same day. Send us an email if you have a question about a product or a request for something not featured on our site.
We don't claim perfection! Some times we 'stuff up'. That's human unfortunately. But if we do make a mistake, or if something goes wrong in shipping or supply of an order we will be honest about it and offer reasonable compensation if we can. We have found that in the rare cases where things have gone seriously wrong, we have been able to preserve our relationship with our customers by being up-front and honest. At least that way the best outcome can be arrived at for everyone.
From time to time there may be delays to shipping if our supplier is out of stock, which we will make you aware of if it will delay sending your order.
Delivery costs are dependent on your location. We are in Adelaide, and our suppliers are located at various points around the country, so we may have to advise you of the delivery charge separately, although this is fairly rare.
We have access to many more products than we can display on our website, so if you are after something that doesn't appear here please ask us.
